Dr. Arbour earned his medical degree and completed his specialization in ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal.
After completing a fellowship in surgical retina at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear (Harvard Medical School), he founded the ophthalmology clinical research unit at Notre-Dame Hospital in 2000. He has served as president of the Association des ophtalmologistes du Québec, treasurer of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, and head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine, where he is currently a clinical associate professor, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Adult patients with retinal conditions (such as macular holes, epiretinal membranes, retinal detachments, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy) are seen and evaluated at the BERRI ophthalmology clinic, while surgeries are performed at the CHUM’s state-of-the-art facilities.
